MANUFACTURING LEADING THE RECOVERY IN 2021

The pandemic has had a massive effect on the economy, the hospitality and retail sectors have been under immense pressure with enforced lockdown and with little alternative but to close their doors and wait for the scientists to deliver us the vaccines. These vaccines will ultimately bring back a normality to our lives, and we are all eternally grateful for the speed the pharma companies have managed to do this ! I took my Mum for her first jab this week, and it gave a real sense of both relief and belief, that we really do have a way forward.

The manufacturing sector has also had major disruption but you cannot help admire that so many companies with their dogged determination, agility and ability to adapt and innovate, have continued to stay in production and in fact many of them have designed and developed new products, which would be manufactured to supply PPE, Medical Device, Safety Products, Automation etc, alongside an army of other companies that have continued to manufacture everything else that needs to be supplied and delivered to keep the wheels turning.

I think we all feel a sense of optimism now and the banner “Build Back Better” could be applied to a number of sectors, including manufacturing and new technologies.

There are some positive reports and indicators on the possible way forward, here are a couple of them below which are worth a read to consider for additional perspectives.
